Uma pedra evolutiva (em japonês: 進化 の 石 pedra Evolution) é um item de pedra, como que irradia uma energia misteriosa que faz com que algumas espécies de Pokémon evoluir.
Outra pedra, o Everstone, é diferente na medida em que irradia um tipo de energia que impede a evolução nos suportes, no entanto, se um Pokémon segurando o Everstone tem uma pedra evolutiva usado nele, ele ainda vai evoluir.
O uso de uma pedra é visto por muitos como "uma forçada evolução ", especialmente pelos principais personagens do anime, como o Pokémon não é responsável pela sua própria transformação
